• Q: What is Pong?
  
  A: Pong is an interface for signing up for raids and other events instead of using a forum. This way the raidleader will hopefully have an easier time when the invites start. Pong also comes with an addon called EventInvite which takes a file generated by Pong for every event and automatically invites all the participants. By using Pong you can also track the attendance and raiding history of Muffin Militia. If you have any further questions please use the Pong-thread. Here you can post both questions and feedback.

• Q: How do I create an account?
  
  A: You click the New user account-link. Here you fill in your ingame name, the password you want to use for Pong, the Muffin Password and your class and press Create account. It is very important that you spell your name just the way you spell it ingame, otherwise the invitation addon will fail to invite you.
• Q: What is the Muffin Password?
  
  A: The Muffin Password is written in the Pong-thread on the forum. It is only to be known by members of Muffin Militia. If you for some reason can't read the forum, please ask Clarice or an Officer/Fortune Cookie for the password.
• Q: Ok, now I have an account, how do I sign for that lovely BWL raid next sunday?
  
  A: You will see all the raids that are currently active on the front page, if you want to see all raids, including old ones, you click the Events-link in the menu. Click on the event of your choice, this will take you to the eventview. Here are some information about the raid and a list of participants so far, grouped by class. At the bottom of the page is the signup-link, click it. You are now at the event signup, here you have a textbox for entering some additional information about your signup, you also have a checkbox to allow you to sign as extra. When you are done you click the signup button and then you are signed for the chosen event.
• Q: Do I have to write a note when I sign for an event?
  
  A: No, you don't, actually you should only use this field if you have to, it helps minimizing the database and prevents the event window from being cluttered. It's mostly meant to be used for announcing late arrivals and such.
• Q: I would like to come to a raid but I can't make it in time, what the fook shall I dooo?
  
  A: Sign up as extra and explain in you note that you will be late. This way your interest will be noted and if there's room in the raid when you enter the game you will get an invite. However, you will not have a reserved spot in the raid, your place may be taken by another participant. Please note that this action is irreversible.
• Q: What happens if I arrive late for the invites?
  
  A: If you are more than 10 minutes late you will be given a DKP-penalty. At the moment this penalty is -5 DKP for late arrival and another -5 DKP for not showing up at all.
• Q: Damn, I just remembered that I can't come this sunday because I've promised to scratch my pong that evening. How do I cancel my signup?
  
  A: Have no fear, we can all make mistakes or have things happening to us that wasn't planned when we signed. To cancel your signup you have to find the event you wish to cancel from. When you are in the eventview you will see your name written in cyan. Click it and you will be taken to the signup editor. Here you can edit your note, mark yourself as extra or cancel your signup. If you check the Cancel box and click Edit signup your name will still show up in the eventview, but it will be colored red and crossed over. Please note that this action is irreversible.
• Q: What is this Pong RSS that I've been hearing about?
  
  A: You can now be alerted when new events are created by subscribing to the Pong RSS feed. RSS is kinda like a subscription for news headlines with links to articles, Wikipedia description:
  "As the mainstream media attempts to realize the full potential of RSS, the news media is utilizing RSS by bypassing traditional news sources. Consumers and journalists are now able to have news constantly fed to them instead of searching for it. A program known as a feed reader or aggregator can check a list of feeds on behalf of a user and display any updated articles that it finds."
  The Pong feed provides a title and a date of the event, as well as a description of it and a link to the complete event page.
  
  To read the Pong RSS feed you need an aggregator, users of the Opera internet browser has one integrated in the browser, other users can either download additional software or use a webbased aggregator, such as Google Reader.
  For those of you who really have to know when new events are planned wherever you are, there are also Java based aggregators for cell phones (I'm using FoCuS myself, works like a charm).

  This document will look like crap in an ordinary browser, only aggregators can make sense of it.
• Q: What's the Pong addon?
  
  A: Pong is a small addon that will take the signups.lua file and invite everyone in the list to the raid. For more information, please read the readme-file.
